DISEASE
- It involves adversely functioning of one or more organs or systems of the body
Which is characterised by various signs and symptomps.Diseases can be devided broadly into the following two categories depending on the modes of transmission.
(1) INFECTIOUS DISEASE :
Which can easily transmit from one affected person to another healthy person. These are usually caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc, examples are AIDS, common cold, etc.
(2) NON-INFECTIOUS DISEASE :
Which do not transmit from one person to another. They may occur due to hereditory factors, deficiencies, etc, examples Cancer, diabetes, etc.
PATHOGENS
Disease causing organisms are called pathogens :
(1) bacterial:- pneumonia, plague, typhoid, diphtheria, etc.
(2)Viral:-common cold, polio, etc.
(3)protozoan:-Amoebiasis, malaria, etc.
(4)Fungal:-Ringworm, athlete's foot, etc.
