Captain Vikram Batra was born September 9, 1974, in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh to Girdhari Lal Batra (Father) and Kamal Kanta Batra (Mother). His father Girdhari Lal Batra was the headmaster of a public school while his mother was a schoolteacher.
Captain Vikram Batra was studying at DAV Public School in Palampur. He was then admitted to Central School for higher education. In 1990, he and his brother represented a school in Table Tennis in the All India KVS Nationals.
Captain Vikram Batra was a green belt in Karate and was attending the sport at the national level camp in Manali.
He was a graduate of B.Sc. Medical Science from DAV College. During his college days, Captain Vikram Batra joined the NCC, the Air Wing. At the Inter-State NCC Camp, he won the best NCC Air Wing cardboard for the Punjab Directorate in the Northern Zone.
Captain Vikram Batra was selected for 40 days training at Pinjore Airfield and Flying Club with his NCC Air Wing unit.
Captain Vikram Batra qualified for the 'C' certificate and was given the position of Captain Vikram Batra in the NCC.
In 1994, he made a Republic Day show as an NCC card and the next day told his parents his desire to join the Indian Army. During his college days in 1995, he was selected to be a seafaring merchant with a shipping company based in Hong Kong but changed his mind.
After graduating from DAV College, Chandigarh in 1995, he enrolled at Panjab University, Chandigarh to study for MA in English. You have chosen a course to prepare for the Combined Defense Services (CDS) Examination.

Captain Vikram Batra: Military Service
In June 1996, Captain Vikram Batra joined the IMA at the Mankshaw Battalion. On December 6, 1997, he completed his IMA degree, after completing his 19-month training course. He was then sent as a lawyer for the 13th group, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles. He was sent to Jabalpur and Madhya Pradesh for a month-long training course.
Send his training, he was sent to Sopore in Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir. The area had an important military role. After the end of his leaves, he joined his army at Sopore. His unit, 13 JAK RIF, received a transfer order to Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The army completed its counter-insurgency operation in Kashmir under the 192 Mountain Brigade's 8 Mountain Division. However, on June 5, military orders were changed and ordered to continue in Dras, Jammu and Kashmir.
The Battle of Kargil
Batra's army, 13 JAK Rifles, came to Drass in early June. By then, the Kargil conflict had lasted for a month and had escalated into full-scale war. Unusual and ordinary Pakistani soldiers had invaded the Indian side of the Line Of Control and seized strategic areas of India. The Indian Army, with the help of the Indian Air Force, had launched Operation to recapture these areas.
Batra's army, the 13 Jak Rifles, was to serve as a reserve for the second army, the Rajputana Rifles. 13 JAK Rifles played a major role in the capture of Point 5140 under the leadership of Lt Col. Yogesh Kumar Joshi. It was during Point Point40's forum that Batra used the phrase 'Yeh Dil Mange More' - which was taken from Pepsi's famous advertising campaign - as a sign of his success.
Batra was badly wounded during the attack, but he killed three enemy soldiers and found hundreds of weapons and ammunition. India did not lose a single life while taking Point 5140. In fact, the victory started a series of successful repetitions, and the Indian army captured Points 5100, Point 4700, Junction Peak and Third Pimple Complex.
